Keep Your Smile For Life

At Lazin Family Orthodontics, we stress the importance of using a retainer to protect the results of your orthodontic treatment. Even once you’ve finished with braces or Invisalign, your teeth can still shift over time. A retainer is a simple, effective way to keep your smile straight for life.

Dr. Lazin offers both fixed (bonded behind the front teeth) and removable retainers. At the consultation, his team will discuss which option is best for you and why.

Smile Protection Program

Retainers don’t last forever, and replacements can add up. That’s why Dr. Jamie Lazin developed our Smile Protection Program. With our affordable plan, it’s easy to replace your clear retainers if they get damaged or go missing.

How It Works

For a one-time enrollment fee of $600, you can replace your lost or damaged clear retainers for a $25 copay per retainer instead of the full replacement cost of $200. And that’s for five years!

Payment Options

You can enroll in the program with:

  • One payment of $600
  • Four monthly payments of $150 with autopay

This gives families a little more flexibility when choosing how to enroll.

Important Program Details

The Smile Protection Program applies to clear retainers only. It doesn’t include Hawley retainers or fixed retainers.

Program fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Coverage lasts for five years total.

Replacement Limits

The program allows up to four upper and four lower retainers per year.

That means you have meaningful replacement support in place, while still keeping clear guidelines around coverage.

A Smarter Way To Plan Ahead

If you want to protect your smile for the long haul, planning for replacement matters. The Smile Protection Program makes that easier by lowering the cost of future clear retainers and helping you stay on track with retention.

Types Of Retainers

At Lazin Family Orthodontics, Dr. Lazin offers several types of retainers to help patients in Greenwood and Southport protect their results after braces or Invisalign.

Essix retainers

Essix retainers are clear, removable trays that look similar to clear aligners. They’ll fit closely over your teeth to help maintain your new smile with a comfortable, low-profile design.

How Essix Retainers Work

We make your Essix retainers from digital scans of your teeth, so you get a fully custom fit. Because they cover the teeth closely and can be easily removed, they’re a great choice if you want effective retention that fits easily into daily life.

Hawley Retainers

Hawley retainers are a more traditional option made to keep your teeth in place after orthodontic treatment. They are dependable, durable, and still a strong choice for long-term retention.

How Hawley Retainers Work

A Hawley retainer uses a molded acrylic base and a metal wire to hold your smile in position. It’s a good option for people who cannot tolerate the essix retainer.

Fixed Retainers

A fixed retainer is bonded to the back of the teeth for added stability after treatment. This type of retainer stays in place full-time and works in the background to help prevent unwanted movement.

How Fixed Retainers Work

A fixed retainer acts as an additional layer of security to make sure your teeth don’t shift or move after treatment. Patients at Lazin Family Orthodontics will also receive a clear retainer to wear at night.

Phase 1 Retainers

After Phase 1 treatment, some younger patients may need a retainer to help preserve early correction while the remaining permanent teeth continue to erupt.

How Phase 1 Retainers Work

This type of retainer helps hold the progress made during early treatment and supports healthy development until your child is ready for the next phase, if needed.
